Our annual Donor Gathering has ended successfully in early December, with over 120 donors, along with their families and friends, attending the event. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone!

Our works, which strive to nurture children both locally and globally, rely on the continuous support from our generous donors over the years. During the gathering, on behalf of Plan International, our board director Dr. Sandra Tsang Kit Man, JP presented certificates of appreciation to our long-term partners, ex-beneficiaries who are now volunteers, other volunteers, long-term donors, and donors who enthusiastically write letters to cheer up their sponsored children.

Two of our long-term partners shared their journey of supporting Plan International. Mr. Yi, who generously sponsors more children every time he gets a pay rise, shared his experience of inspiring friends to become sponsors. Michelle, a dedicated mother of two children, not only sponsors children in developing countries in the name of her family of four, but has also been actively supporting our work in safeguarding children, including being the speaker of our talks, sharing picture books, and co-publishing children’s books with us.

Children are also engaged in meaningful activities. Children entering adolescence attended the “Teens Workshop ” to learn about “Period Poverty” and “Period Shaming” in developing countries and broaden their international perspective on menstrual issues through an interactive drama, with teaching resources provided by the brand Kotex under Kimberly-Clark, and under the leadership of Kimmy, the participant in our “Girl Takeover” event this year.

Children learn about issues including “Period Poverty” in developing countries through our “Teens Workshop”.

On the other hand, younger children became our “Kids Volunteers” and they created paper fans with blessings to children in Cambodia after learning simple concepts such as the earth, countries, equality, inclusion, and mutual respect.

The lovely paper fans and heartfelt message cards produced by our Kids Volunteers and other participants will be delivered to the sponsored children in Cambodia!

All who attended the gathering, including our colleagues, had a pleasant and fruitful afternoon. Thank you once again to all donors, ex-beneficiaries, volunteers, and supporters for their participation and support, and for working with Plan International to promote children’s rights, especially to ensure that girls have equal opportunities to thrive. We look forward to seeing you at the next gathering!
