When emergencies happen, we have to act quickly if lives are to be saved. Plan International carries out disaster response programmes globally and mobilizes people and resources quickly, to ensure the immediate and long-term needs of affected children and their families are met.

We also invest in communities through different projects to improve people’s knowledge of disaster prevention and reduce the harm that disasters can do. Plan International works with children, their families and communities to identify disaster risks and strengthen their resilience. We ensure that children have a significant voice in disaster response decisions. We also work with various partners to help prevent future emergencies and reduce their impact.

In all of this, child protection is paramount. We prioritize providing children with safe spaces, education and emotional support as part of our immediate disaster response.
