‘Because I am a Girl ─ Be a Change-maker 2018’ Opens for Application

Plan International is one of the world’s leading development organisations specifically focusing on children, We strive for a just world that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We cordially invite students to join ‘Because I am a Girl ─ Be a Change-maker 2018’.

Throughout an interactive process of ‘Learn, Lead, Decide and Thrive’ from October 2017 to May 2018, participants will take the first step towards becoming global citizens.

7-day Indonesia Exposure Trip

As part of ‘Because I am a Girl ─ Be a Change-maker 2018’, participants will visit Indonesia in February 2018. With the support from Plan International Indonesia Office, participants will visit the child protection and youth advocacy programmes supported by Plan International in local communities. Participants will meet with Indonesian youth and learn more about situation of local children.

Training Workshops (Two full-day workshops, dates may be subject to changes) 25th November 2017 (Saturday); 9th December 2017 (Saturday)
Pre-trip Tea Gathering (Date may be subject to changes) 13th January 2018 (Saturday)
7-day Exposure Trip to Indonesia (Date may be subject to changes) 18th to 24th February 2018 (Sunday to Saturday)
Implementation of local Seed Project March to April 2018
Graduation Ceremony May 2018

 

Eligibility
  • Aged between 15 and 21 (as of the departure date of the exposure trip)
  • Have a passion for global citizenship and child-safeguarding issue
  • Willing to take action to advocate rights for children and youth, and to make a voice for children around the world, especially girls in poverty and dire situation.
  • Priority will be given to applicants who:

have joined youth activities organized by Plan International Hong Kong; and/or

with recommendations from school teachers/ affiliated organisations

Fee

HKD$ 2,000  (Participants that have fully attended and actively participated in all activities may be fully funded by Plan International Hong Kong)
