Senior Communication Officer


The incumbent is mainly responsible for raising the profile of the organization and communicating global poverty issues through publicity work, enhancing communications between the donors/public and the organisation through producing printed publications and assisting in handling crises to safeguard the brand’s reputation.


  • Develop media strategies to raise the profile of the organisation and establish our creditable voice on girls issues
  • Write and produce publicity materials, feature articles and marketing communications materials to support fundraising campaigns
  • Pitch and arrange media interviews
  • Work with vendors to produce publications (annual report, bi-annual newsletters etc.,)
  • Assist in handling crisis and preparing media Q&A
  • Edit and proofread Chinese materials
  • Act as a branding consultant to ensure all marketing and communications materials are in line with the global branding guidelines
  • Coordinate and participate in field trips to collect resources for marketing and communications purposes
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor


Level of education

  • University Degree in Communications, Translation, Journalism or related disciplines

Knowledge / Job Specific Competencies

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in communications and copywriting; experience in  working with NGO is preferred
  • Excellent written Chinese skill, good written English skill
  • Good at writing publicity materials including press releases, feature articles and marketing and communications materials
  • Skillful in editing various types of Chinese materials
  • Knowledge of the media landscape in Hong Kong and experience in media pitching, arranging media interviews and conferences
  • Good knowledge of printing and video productions
  • Occasional travel to developing countries is required

  • Proficient in MS Office applications, knowledge of graphic software an advantage
  • Good communications and interpersonal skills
